इस दवा के असर को देख उसके शेयर में भी बृहस्पतिवार को 16 फीसदी की तेजी दिखी। वैज्ञानिकों को उम्मीद है कि भविष्य में ये दवा कारगर होगी। यूनिवर्सिटी ऑफ शिकागो के संक्रामक रोग विभाग की डॉ. कैथलीन मुलाने रेमदेसवी दवा का ट्रायल कर रही हैं।

वे बताती हैं कि यूनिवर्सिटी ने ट्रायल के लिए कोरोना से संक्रमित 125 मरीजों का चयन किया था। दवा से 113 मरीज ठीक हो गए। अधिकतर को अस्पताल से छुट्टी दे दी गई और वे घर पर स्वस्थ हैं। गंभीर मरीज भी छह दिन में ठीक होकर घर लौटे हैं।

इस ट्रायल में शामिल केवल तीन मरीज ही हैं जिनको दस दिन का इलाज दिया गया। अभी दो का इलाज चल रहा है। कुछ की मौत भी हुई है। इबोला के संक्रमण में भी दवा का परीक्षण हुआ था। इसी के बाद कुछ जानवरों पर अध्ययन में पाया गया कि ये दवा सार्स व मर्स के साथ कोरोना के इलाज में भी इस्तेमाल हो सकती है।

दुनियाभर के 169 अस्पतालों में कोरोना संक्रमित अलग-अलग लक्षण वाले 1600 मरीजों पर अध्ययन चल रहा है। दवा काे लेकर अध्ययन अभी तीसरे चरण में है। वैज्ञानिकों को उम्मीद है कि माह के आखिर में परिणाम आ जाएगा कुछ जानकारी मई में मिलने की उम्मीद है।
