शिवसेना नेता संजय राउत ने रविवार को आरोप लगाया कि फरवरी में अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रंप के स्वागत के लिए अहमदाबाद में आयोजित ‘नमस्ते ट्रंप’ कार्यक्रम गुजरात और बाद में मुंबई और दिल्ली में कोरोना वायरस के फैलने के लिए जिम्मेदार है। राउत ने कहा कि इस कार्यक्रम में शामिल कुछ प्रतिनिधि बाद में दिल्ली और मुंबई में भी गए थे।

राउत ने केंद्र पर निशाना साधते हुए कहा कि लॉकडाउन को बिना किसी योजना के लागू किया गया लेकिन अब इसे हटाने का जिम्मा राज्यों के सिर मढ़ दिया गया है। शिवसेना सांसद ने कहा कि विपक्षी पार्टी भाजपा ने महाराष्ट्र विकास अघाड़ी (एमवीए) सरकार को गिराने की तमाम कोशिशें की। लेकिन यह एमवीए के लिए कोई खतरा नहीं था, क्योंकि इसका बना रहना तीन दलों (शिवसेना, कांग्रेस और एनसीपी) की मजबूरी है।

शिवसेना के मुखपत्र ‘सामना’ में अपने साप्ताहिक कॉलम में राउत ने कहा कि इस बात से इनकार नहीं किया जा सकता है कि गुजरात में कोरोना वायरस का प्रसार अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रंप के स्वागत के लिए आयोजित विशाल जनसमूह के कारण हुआ। उन्होंने कहा कि ट्रंप के साथ आए कुछ प्रतिनिधियों ने बाद में मुंबई और दिल्ली का दौरा किया, जिससे वायरस का संक्रमण इन शहरों तक पहुंच गया। 

बता दें कि, 24 फरवरी को प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के साथ ट्रंप ने अहमदाबाद में एक रोड-शो में भाग लिया था, जिसमें हजारों लोग शामिल हुए थे। रोड-शो के बाद दोनों देशों के नेताओं ने गुजरात क्रिकेट एसोसिएशन (जीसीए) द्वारा संचालित मोटेरा क्रिकेट स्टेडियम में एक लाख लोगों की जनसभा को संबोधित किया था। 

गुजरात में कोरोना वायरस का पहला मामला 20 मार्च को दर्ज किया गया, जब राजकोट के एक व्यक्ति और सूरत की एक महिला की रिपोर्ट इस खतरनाक बीमारी के लिए पॉजिटिव पाई गई। 

राउत ने कहा कि उद्धव ठाकरे की अगुवाई वाली एमवीए सरकार को गिराने का कोई भी कदम और महाराष्ट्र में कोरोना वायरस महामारी पर अंकुश लगाने में राज्य सरकार की विफलता का हवाला देते हुए राष्ट्रपति शासन लागू करना आत्महत्या करने जैसा फैसला होगा। उन्होंने कहा कि राज्य ने देखा था कि कैसे छह महीने पहले राष्ट्रपति शासन लगाया गया था और उसे हटाया गया था।

शिवसेना सांसद ने कहा कि कोरोना वायरस को संभालने के आधार पर राष्ट्रपति शासन लगाया जाएगा, तब तो ऐसा कम से कम 17 राज्यों में करना होगा, इसमें भाजपा शासित राज्य भी शामिल होंगे। उन्होंने कहा कि यहां तक कि केंद्र सरकार भी महामारी पर अंकुश लगाने में विफल रही है क्योंकि इसने वायरस से लड़ने के लिए कोई योजना नहीं बनाई थी।
