मोहाली के फोर्टिस अस्पताल में भर्ती हॉकी दिग्गज बलबीर सिंह सीनियर की हालत पर नया अपडेट आया है। 95 वर्षीय बलबीर के पोते की माने तो उनके मस्तिष्क में खून का थक्का विकसित हो गया है। कबीर ने सोमवार को बताया कि तीन बार के ओलंपिक स्वर्ण पदक विजेता भारतीय हॉकी टीम के सदस्य रहे बलबीर सीनियर अस्पताल में कई स्वास्थ्य जटिलताओं से जूझ रहे हैं, उन्हें वेंटिलेटर के सहारे रखा गया है।

कबीर ने एक बयान में यह भी कहा कि उनके 95 वर्षीय नाना को पिछले सप्ताह से कोई कार्डियक अरेस्ट भी नहीं आया है, लेकिन स्थिति अभी भी गंभीर बनी हुई है। लगातार वेंटिलेटर पर होने के कारण बलबीर सिंह के फेफड़ों में निमोनिया के ताजा लक्षण भी पाए गए हैं। उपचार का प्रयास किया जा रहा है। डॉक्टर्स लगातार उनकी स्थिति का आकलन कर रहे हैं।

याद हो कि 8 मई को तेज बुखार और सांस लेने में तकलीफ की वजह से बलबीर सिंह को अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया था। उनका कोरोना टेस्ट भी किया गया, जिसकी रिपोर्ट 10 मई को निगेटिव आई। इसके दो दिन बाद 12 मई को उन्हें कार्डियक अरेस्ट हो गया, जिससे वह वेंटिलेटर पर आ गए।

बुधवार को फिर दो बार कार्डियक अरेस्ट हुआ। हालांकि, उनके प्रशंसक लगातार जल्द स्वस्थ होने की दुआ कर रहे हैं। पूर्व ओलंपियन हॉकी लीजेंड बलबीर सिंह सीनियर पिछले दो साल से अस्वस्थ चल रहे हैं।
