केंद्र सरकार ने शीर्ष स्तर की नौकरशाही में रविवार को फेरबदल करते हुए स्वास्थ्य सचिव प्रीति सूदन को 30 अप्रैल के बाद तीन महीने का कार्य विस्तार दिया है। वह महीने के अंत में सेवानिवृत्त होने वाली थीं। 

कोविड-19 संकट के दौर में केंद्र सरकार का यह कदम काफी महत्वपूर्ण है, क्योंकि वायरस संक्रमण से निजात पाने में स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय अग्रणी भूमिका निभा रहा है। कार्मिक मंत्रालय की ओर से जारी आदेश के अनुसार, प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के नेतृत्व वाली कैबिनेट की नियुक्ति समिति ने सूदन की सेवानिवृत्ति के बाद उन्हें तीन महीने का कार्य विस्तार देने का निर्णय लिया है। 
आदेश के अनुसार, अब वह 31 जुलाई तक स्वास्थ्य एवं परिवार कल्याण मंत्रालय की सचिव बनी रहेंगी। सचिव स्तर के फेरबदल में ग्रामीण विकास सचिव राजेश भूषण को स्वास्थ्य एवं परिवार कल्याण मंत्रालय में सचिव स्तर पर विशेष कार्य अधिकारी (ओएसडी) नियुक्त किया गया है। संभावना है कि जुलाई में सूदन की कार्य विस्तार अवधि समाप्त होने के बाद भूषण मंत्रालय के नए सचिव होंगे। 

ग्रामीण विकास मंत्रालय के नए सचिव के रूप में नागेन्द्र नाथ सिन्हा को नियुक्ति किया गया है। सिन्हा फिलहाल गृह मंत्रालय के सीमा प्रबंधन विभाग में सचिव हैं। कार्मिक एवं प्रशिक्षण विभाग में विशेष सचिव के पद पर कार्यरत प्रदीप कुमार त्रिपाठी को इस्पात मंत्रालय में सचिव नियुक्त किया गया है। वह जम्मू-कश्मीर कैडर के 1987 बैच के अधिकारी हैं।

दिल्ली विकास प्राधिकरण (डीडीए) के उपाध्यक्ष तरुण कपूर को पेट्रोलियम और प्राकृतिक गैस विभाग का सचिव नियुक्त किया गया है। मंत्रालय के सचिव एम. एम. कुट्टी इस महीने के अंत में सेवानिवृत्त हो रहे हैं। प्रधानमंत्री कार्यालय में अतिरिक्त सचिव तरुण बजाज को आर्थिक मामलों के मंत्रालय में सचिव पद पर भेजा गया है।

वहीं सीबीएसई की प्रमुख अनिता कारवाल को शिक्षा एवं साक्षरता विभाग का सचिव नियुक्त किया गया। वह 1988 बैच की गुजरात कैडर की आईएएस अधिकारी हैं। उच्च शिक्षा विभाग के सचिव अमित खरे को सूचना और प्रसारण मंत्रालय का अतिरिक्त प्रभार दिया गया है। वह दोनों विभाग की जिम्मेदारी संभालेंगे। खरे भारतीय प्रशासनिक सेवा के 1985 बैच के झारखंड कैडर के अधिकारी हैं।
