चक्रवाती तूफान अम्फान तेज गति से ओडिशा और पश्चिम बंगाल की ओर बढ़ रहा है। इसी सिलसिले में केंद्रीय मंत्री अमित शाह ने मंगलवार को पश्चिम बंगाल की मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी और ओडिशा के मुख्यमंत्री नवीन पटनायक से बात की। उन्होंने दोनों राज्यों को केंद्र से हरसंभव मदद का भरोसा दिलाया।

शाह ने सबसे पहले पश्चिम बंगाल की मुख्यमंत्री से बात की। मंत्रालय के सूत्रों के अनुसार शाह ने मुख्यमंत्री को आश्वासन दिया है कि केंद्र राज्य की मदद करने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है और एनडीआरएफ की टीम को पहले ही तैनात किया जा चुका है। केंद्र राज्य राज्य द्वारा अपेक्षित किसी भी तरह की सहायता करने के लिए तैयार है। 

इसके बाद गृह मंत्री ने ओडिशा के मुख्यमंत्री पटनायक से बात की और अम्फान तूफान को लेकर की गई तैयारियों की समीक्षा की। उन्होंने फिर दोहराया कि केंद्र सरकार दोनों प्रभावित राज्यों द्वारा उनकी ओर से आवश्यक हर तरह की सहायता प्रदान करने के लिए तैयार है।
 

बता दें कि चक्रवाती तूफान मंगलवार शाम तक अत्यंत गंभीर चक्रवाती तूफान में तब्दील हो जाएगा। भारतीय मौसम विभाग ने इस बात की जानकारी दी है। बताया गया है कि चक्रवात के चलते ओडिशा के तटीय इलाकों में तेज हवाएं चलने के साथ ही भारी बारिश हो सकती है। वहीं, ओडिशा सरकार ने तटीय इलाकों से 11 लाख लोगों को निकालने का काम शुरू कर दिया है। करीब 195 किमी. प्रति घंटे की रफ्तार से अम्फान तूफान 20 मई की शाम को पश्चिम बंगाल के तट पर पहुंचेगा।
