दिल्ली एम्स में 20 मई से ओपीडी सेवाएं शुरू हो सकती हैं। कोरोना वायरस के चलते लॉकडाउन लागू होने से पहले ही एम्स ने ओपीडी सेवाओं और पहले से तय ऑपरेशन पर रोक लगा दी थी। तब से आपातकालीन सेवाओं के जरिए ही मरीजों का उपचार किया जा रहा है, लेकिन अब दिल्ली एम्स ने नई व्यवस्थाओं के जरिए ओपीडी सेवा शुरू करने का फैसला लिया है।

एम्स प्रबंधन के अनुसार, 20 मई से नई ओपीडी में पंजीकरण जारी रहेगा। साथ ही पुरानी ओपीडी के हॉल को भी पंजीकरण के लिए रखा जाएगा, ताकि सोशल डिस्टेंसिंग का पालन किया जा सके। नई ओपीडी के भूतल पर पंजीकृत कार्ड की स्कैनिंग के बाद ओपीडी के लिए जा सकेंगे। 

प्रसूति रोग विभाग के लिए अलग से ओपीडी की व्यवस्था है, जबकि कोविड मरीजों के लिए तीसरे मंजिल पर उपचार दिया जा सकता है। इसके अलावा ऑपरेशन के लिए ट्रॉमा और आपातकालीन विभाग के ऑपरेशन थियेटर का सहारा लिया जा सकता है।

एम्स प्रबंधन के एक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी ने बताया कि पहले से तय ऑपरेशन पर रोक लगने के कारण एम्स के आगे पुराने मरीजों के ऑपरेशन कम समय में करना बड़ी चुनौती है। इसके लिए अभी योजना तैयार की जा रही है। ऑपरेशन थियेटर की संख्या को बढ़ाने के लिए अन्य शाखाओं से मदद ली जा सकती है। 

बताया जा रहा है कि झज्जर और एम्स ट्रॉमा सेंटर की एक एक विंग को छोड़कर बाकी जगह अन्य मरीजों को उपचार दिया जा सकता है। हालांकि, यह सभी योजना पर अंतिम मंजूरी एम्स निदेशक डॉ. रणदीप गुलेरिया और प्रबंधन की बैठक के बाद लिया जाएगा।
