भारत और चीन की सेनाओं के बीच हुई झड़प के बाद से ही दोनों देशों की सीमाओं पर लद्दाख और उत्तरी सिक्किम के कई क्षेत्रों में तनाव लगातार बढ़ता जा रहा है। लद्दाख की पेंगोंग त्सो झील के अलावा देमचोक, दौलत बेग ओल्डी और गलवां नदी जैसे संवेदनशील क्षेत्रों में दोनों देशों ने सैनिकों की तैनाती बढ़ा दी है। 

सूत्रों ने बताया कि पेंगोंग और त्सो झील वाले क्षेत्रों में दोनों ने सैनिकों की तैनाती बढ़ा दी है। इन क्षेत्रों का इस्तेमाल पहले वे गश्त लगाने के लिए ही करते थे। पिछले छह दशक से दोनों देशों के बीच गलवां के आसपास का इलाका विवादित रहा है और 1962 में इसे लेकर दोनों के बीच युद्ध भी हो चुका है। सूत्रों के मुताबिक, चीन ने गलवां घाटी क्षेत्र में तंबुओं की संख्या बढ़ा दी है। इसे देखते हुए भारत ने चौकसी तेज कर दी है।

गौरतलब है कि पेंगोंग त्सो झील क्षेत्र में 5 मई को भारत और चीन के सैनिकों के बीच लोहे की रॉड, डंडे और पत्थरबाजी के जरिये हिंसक झड़प हुई थी। इसमें दोनों ओर के कई सैनिक घायल हुए थे। इसके बाद 9 मई को नाकुला दर्रे के पास भी करीब 150 भारत-चीन सैनिकों के बीच झड़प हुई थी। इसमें दस सैनिक घायल हुए थे।

दोनों सेनाओं के बीच बढ़ते इस तनाव पर सेना या विदेश मंत्रालय में से किसी ने बयान नहीं दिया है। पिछले सप्ताह विदेश मंत्रालय ने कहा था कि चीन की सीमा पर शांति और सौहार्द बनाए रखने के लिए हम प्रतिबद्ध हैं। सूत्रों के मुताबिक, उत्तरी सिक्किम की विवादित सीमा पर भी चीनी सेना की आक्रामकता को देखते हुए अतिरिक्त सैनिकों की तैनाती बढ़ा दी गई है।
