केंद्रीय मंत्री नितिन गडकरी ने गुरुवार को कहा कि सूक्ष्म, लघु और मध्यम उद्योग (एमएसएमई) कोरोना वायरस की वजह से गंभीर संकट से जूझ रहा है। उन्होंने प्रमुख उद्योगों को कहा कि वह ऐसी कंपनियों का एक महीने के अंदर पूरा भुगतान करें। इसके साथ ही उन्होंने कहा कि उद्योगों को राहत पहुंचाने के लिए सरकार जल्द ही राहत पैकेज का एलान करेगी। 

एमएसएमई क्षेत्र का देश की वृद्धि में 29 प्रतिशत और निर्यात में 48 प्रतिशत का हिस्सा है। यह क्षेत्र रोजगार देने में भी काफी आगे है। हालांकि, कोरोना वायरस की वजह से यह क्षेत्र गंभीर संकट से जूझ रहा है। क्षेत्र में बड़ी संख्या में नौकरियों में कटौती की भी आशंका है।

सियाम (सोसायटी ऑफ इंडियन आटोमोबाइल मैन्युफैक्चरर्स) इंस्टिट्यूट के सदस्यों के साथ वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के जरिये परिचर्चा के दौरान केंद्रीय एमएसएमई और सड़क परिवहन एवं राजमार्ग मंत्री नितिन गडकरी ने कहा कि पैकेज की घोषणा जल्द की जाएगी। अर्थव्यवस्था को रफ्तार देने के लिए विभिन्न हलकों से पैकेज की मांग उठ रही है। विभिन्न उद्योग संगठन और एमएसएमई क्षेत्र विशेषज्ञ पैकेज की मांग कर रहे हैं।

सड़क परिवहन एवं राजमार्ग मंत्रालय में सचिव गिरिधर अरमाने ने गुरुवार को कहा कि सरकार न केवल केवल सूक्ष्म, लघु एवं मझोले उपक्रमों (एमएसएमई) बल्कि अर्थव्यवस्था के सभी क्षेत्रों के लिए पैकेज पर काम कर रही है। अरमाने ने कहा कि अर्थव्यवस्था के सभी क्षेत्रों के लिए व्यापक पैकेज दिया जाएगा। सरकार इस पर काम कर रही है।
